What the PDF tells you
- Every line, priced. Each item on the quote next to a typical US range for your year, make and model, parts and labor together.
- The lines to argue about. High, vague (“shop supplies”, “as needed”), billed twice, or priced like a dealer when you are at an independent shop.
- The questions to ask. Part brand, book hours, what can wait, and “show me the worn part”.
- Where the numbers come from. Ranges from our catalog cite their published sources on the last page. A range without a source is labelled as our estimate, so you always know which is which.
- A verdict. Looks fair, ask before you pay, or get a second quote.
How it works
- Photograph the quote flat and in good light, every line and the total. One to three photos, or the PDF the shop emailed you.
- Add your car (year, make, model) and your email, then pay $9.99 through Stripe.
- Open the PDF in your inbox a few minutes later. Reply to that email if anything is unclear.
What this is not
- Not a diagnosis. Nobody sees your car, so the check cannot say the repair is unnecessary. It tells you what proof to ask for.
- Not a verdict on your shop. Labor rates differ by city and shop; a higher price is not proof of a bad one, and the PDF says when location explains a gap.
- Not a price guarantee. Ranges are typical US prices, not a quote.
Questions
Who reads my quote?
An AI model trained to read repair quotes reads the photo line by line. The price ranges do not come from the model: the PulsCar team keeps a catalog of typical US repair prices with published sources, and the code attaches those ranges to the matching lines. Where a line has no catalog match, the PDF says so and labels the range as an estimate without a cited source.
How fast is it?
Usually within a few minutes of payment. If anything slows it down, the PDF still arrives the same day and you can write to us at any time.
What if the photo cannot be read?
You get an email saying so, you reply with a sharper photo or the PDF the shop sent you, and we run the check again at no extra charge.
Does this tell me whether I need the repair?
No. Nobody has seen your car, so this is a price check, not a diagnosis. It tells you what the work typically costs, which lines look high or vague, and what proof to ask for, like seeing the worn part.
Is this only for the United States?
Yes. The ranges are US prices in US dollars.
Does it renew?
