Free engine sound check
Film your engine for 30 seconds. Two independent AI engines analyse the sound, and you get a free engine health report by email in about 10 minutes. No scanner, no app, no card.
What is in the report
- A Health Score for the engine.
- The status of the key systems the sound can speak about.
- An independent second opinion from a separate AI engine.
- Estimated repair costs and recommended actions.
How it works
- Film the engine. Start the engine and let it idle for 10 seconds. Open the hood, hold your phone 20–30 cm above the engine and film 30 seconds. Avoid wind, rain and background noise.
- Send it. Enter your email on pulscar.io and upload the clip (MP4, MOV, MP3, M4A or WAV).
- Read the report. The report arrives in your inbox in about 10 minutes. If the recording cannot support a confident answer, you get an honest "inconclusive" result, not a guess.
What it does not do
- It does not replace a mechanic. Confirm any repair decision with one.
- It works for gasoline and diesel engines. Electric vehicles are not supported.
- It listens to the engine only, it does not read your car’s computer. For fault codes see the check engine codes service.
Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The check is free: no subscription and no card. It is separate from the paid PulsCar membership.
Do I need a scanner or the app?
No. You need only a phone to film the engine and an email address for the report.
How does the analysis work?
Every clip is analysed by two independent engines: a spectral-physics analyser that measures more than 30 acoustic metrics, and a separately trained neural network. A verdict is issued only when the clip supports one.
What happens to my recording?
It is used to produce your report. Details are in the sound recordings section of our privacy policy.
